She was a teacher leader active in both local and state levels of teacher association activities. After completing her Masters degree in School Administration, she worked as district coordinator of curriculum and staff development.

Stacey Jarvis received a North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship while in high school and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2000.  She is currently teaching social studies in an urban high school in North Carolina.  She is now a National Board certified teacher and is working on obtaining her master's degree in secondary education.  She has spoken at numerous conferences and seminars across the state addressing the struggles of first-year teacher
