Christopher Butts has worked in education since 2003. He spent the first ten years at the elementary level as a paraprofessional with English Learners and a classroom teacher for third and fourth graders. During that his grade level team created a community garden. He also taught at a migrant summer school and English classes for parents in the evenings.

Dr. Ashley Taylor is a licensed clinical pediatric psychologist with a practice in Pasadena, California. She is endorsed in California as an infant-family and early childhood mental health specialist.  She received bachelor’s degrees in psychology and Spanish from the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT, and attended the Wright Institute in Berkeley California for her graduate training.

Educator and author Jan Chappuis began her career as an elementary and secondary teacher, after which she became a curriculum developer in English/language arts, mathematics, social studies, and world languages. She joined Assessment Training Institute in 2001, working with Rick Stiggins and Steve Chappuis to write books and develop workshops focused on classroom assessment practices that support learning.

Dr. Hilary Kreisberg is the Director of the Center for Mathematics Achievement at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, an Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education, President of the Boston Area Mathematics Specialists organization, and co-author of the book Adding Parents to the Equation: Understanding Your Child’s Elementary School Math.

Dr. Matthew L. Beyranevand is the K-12 Mathematics Department Coordinator for the Chelmsford Public Schools in Massachusetts. Matthew is an ambassador for the Global Math Project, consults on the creation of mathematics curriculum, and a member of the Massachusetts STEM Advisory Council. He also serves as an adjunct professor of mathematics and education at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and Fitchburg State University.

Jennifer Suh is a mathematics educator at George Mason University, leading efforts to enhance K-8 math instruction through strength-based formative assessments and bridging activities. In partnership with the Virginia Department of Education, her project, Bridging for Math Strength, focuses on using rich mathematics tasks across grade levels, unpacking the learning progression to enhance teaching and learning.

Sherri Martinie, a Professor of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education at Kansas State University, teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics education. Prior to taking her position at Kansas State, she taught elementary, middle and high school mathematics for a combined 20 years.

Dr. Jared Scherz is a clinical psychologist, author, and consultant who has worked with educators for over 30 years. He earned his M.Ed. from Penn State University and became an elementary school counselor before gaining his Ph.D. in psychology. He has created innovative prevention and intervention programs in both rural and inner-city schools.
