Loraine Dunn is a professor in early childhood education at the University of Oklahoma where she teaches early childhood classes, oversees the child development laboratory, and makes student teaching placements. Her research has focused on child care program quality, developmentally appropriate practice, and children’s learning and development.

Dr. Kingore is an international consultant and the author of twenty-two books, numerous articles, and instructional aids. She has received many honors including the Legacy Award as the Author of the 2005 Educator Book of the Year and the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the University of North Texas where she earned her Ph.D. She was also the first recipient of the Texas Gifted Educator of the Year Award.

Joan A. Struzziero is an adjunct professor at Northeastern University and school psychologist in the Scituate, MA Public Schools. She has worked as a school psychologist for 18 years and as a field and university supervisor of interns for 15 years. She has also been a supervisor for the Global School Psychology Network and has researched the use of the Internet in supervision.

Carol N. Dixon has worked as a reading clinician, university professor and administrator, and consultant to schools and universities around the country and abroad. In her role as a university faculty member, she directed a reading clinic and an MA in Reading/Reading Specialist Credential Program for 20 years.

Mary Beth Marr is an associate professor in education at Meredith College, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in literacy education. She previously served as a research associate with the Behavior and Reading Improvement Center at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Marr, whose research interests focus on early literacy and struggling readers, received her doctorate in reading education from the University of Minnesota.

Tina McClanahan has worked for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School (CMS) system since her graduation from West Virginia State College. During her time with CMS she has held the positions of classroom teacher, literacy teacher, Reading Recovery teacher, K–2 literacy facilitator, and is currently a Pre–K literacy facilitator.

Emme Barnes is a literacy facilitator in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System working with teachers, students, and parents to develop literacy skills in elementary students. She has taught first and second grade classes in Title One, large suburban schools, and at The American School of Madrid.

Cara Shores began her career as a special education teacher and taught children in both pullout and inclusive classrooms. Shores has trained thousands of teachers and administrators across the United States on practical strategies for inclusion, co-teaching, and increasing achievement for all students through differentiated instruction and RTI. She provides regional and national training for the Council for Exceptional Children.

Ted Purinton is assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at National-Louis University in Chicago. His research interests are in organizational theory, educational policy, and innovation diffusion. He has worked with various organizations in their explorations of their own internal social networks.

Chris Street, Ph.D. is an associate professor of Secondary Education at California State University, Fullerton. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas, Austin. He earned his M.A. from California State University, San Diego and his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Chris has taught English language learners at both the middle-school and college levels.

Lois A. Lanning, PhD, is an independent education consultant.  She presents and works with districts at the international, national, and state levels in the areas of literacy and Concept- Based Curriculum design.
