Paul V. Rain S. Bongolan has supported over 120 beginning secondary teachers as a mentor for the Santa Cruz New Teacher Project. Her contributions to the profession reflect 22 years of teaching history and English at the middle and high school levels, and her dedication to ensuring students’ access to rigorous, culturally responsive instruction.

Dolores M. Huffman, RN, PhD, has been a nursing educator for over thirty years. In her academic career she has taught classroom health issues for elementary teachers. In addition, she has been employed as a community health nurse. In that capacity, she has worked with families of school-age children living with disability and has previously served as a camp nurse for special needs children. Her interest covers the health needs of persons across the lifespan.

Karen Lee Fontaine, R.N., M.S.N., is Professor of Nursing at Purdue University Calumet, where she has been teaching for 20 years. She is also a certified sex therapist and maintains a private practice coun­seling individuals and couples. Her publishing awards include the American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award (2000) for Healing Practices: Alternative Therapies for Nursing and the Annual Nursing Book Review Sigma Theta Tau (2000) for Mental Health Nursing (4th edition).

Michael Ben-Avie directs the Impact Analysis and Strategies Group, which studies corporate, nonprofit, and government partnerships that promote youth development and student learning. He conducts national studies designed to evaluate the effectiveness of mentoring programs and psychological interventions on children's lifepaths. He has co-edited books about the Yale School Development Program with James P.

Siri Ann Loescher is an educational specialist and served as a policy analyst for the Indiana Educational Policy Center, and currently works as a consultant. She has an M.A. in administration and policy analysis from Stanford University where she completed advanced course work. She has worked as an alternative educator in an urban school district, and an instructor and teacher program coordinator with a Washington, DC, based experiential civics education pro-gram.

Jeffrey Bardzell, founder of Allecto Media, an eLearning consulting and development company, is a Ph.D. candi-date at Indiana University, where he also works as a trainer and multimedia instructional developer. He is also an eLearning Web developer, author, and instructor. Among his technical publications are Macromedia MX eLearning: Advanced Training From the Source and Special Edition Using Fireworks MX.

J. Ronald Gentile is a graduate of Penn State University (B.S., 1963, and M.S., 1964, in Psychology; and Ph.D., in 1967, in Educational Psychology) and has been teaching educational psychology at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, since 1969.
