Mike Marlowe is a professor of special education at Appalachian State University in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. He has also taught special education at the University of Wyoming and Tennessee Technological University.
Pooja Patel M.Ed. is a learning specialist who is currently working as a middle school English and Humanities teacher at United Nations International School. She has taught a class on writing instruction at Bank Street College of Education. She also has presented at some national conferences, including the Council of Exceptional Children and the New York Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (NYBIDA).
Dr. Martin Buoncristiani is an emeritus professor of physics at Christopher Newport University in the USA. He has been dedicated to science and mathematics education for over thirty five years. In his involvement in curricular development for the university he has been a strong advocate of adapting teaching methods to our current understanding of how people learn.
Pat Buoncristiani has spent over thirty years as an educator committed to the belief that learning how to think is the foundation for every successful learner. She has been a classroom teacher, a teachers college lecturer and, most recently, a school principal in both Australia and the USA. Her experience includes work with school systems in the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia.
Ana Lado obtained her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Georgetown University in Washington, D. C. She is currently a professor in the School of Education and Human Services of Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. She coordinates the Master of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) and advises graduate students in the Master of Education in Professional Studies. Her favorite courses involve methods of TESOL and beginning reading.
Kathleen Roskos teaches courses in reading assessment and instruction at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. Formerly an elementary school reading teacher, Dr. Roskos has served in a variety of educational administration roles, including director of federal programs in the public schools, department chair in higher education and director of the Ohio Literacy Initiative at the Ohio Department of Education.
Lisa Lenhart is a professor in the College of Education at the University of Akron. She is currently the Director of the college’s Center for Literacy and is PI on numerous grants. For the past several years, she has been engaged in creating online professional development for teachers. She has co-authored several books including Oral Language and Early Literacy in Preschool with Kathleen Roskos and Reading and Learning to Read, a popular textbook.
Dr. Brandi Noll is an Assistant Professor at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio where she teaches literacy courses. She is a former teacher, reading specialist and literacy coach. Dr. Noll earned her masters of Reading at Malone University in Canton, Ohio and her PhD in Elementary Education with a focus in Literacy at The University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. Dr.
