This book is essential and will be on the reading list for my PTLLS courses.

This book is essential reading to get a grip on the new standards for tutor and learner alike. It also provides a springboard for further research and links to the criterion of the new standards - excellent! I always recommend that my learners obtain a copy and I refer to it frequently.

An excellent text that I recommend to all PTLLS students as being a sound starting point for their course and as a springboard to other texts.

A much improved publication inclusive of new practices. The book provides a comprehensive Introduction which provides a list of qualifications for teaching and learning. Jargon busted in an easy accessible read for all levels.

Gravells covers the same aspects included in the Ptlls qualification but in greater depth and she has expanded on areas not previously looked at in previous editions.

User friendly layout makes it easy to access the required information. The Micro Teaching section will be of particular use to new teachers and the learners of Pttls.

The Appendix sections 1 – 9 breaks down in detail the criteria a learner has to attain in order to reach a Level 3 or Level 4 in the Ptlls qualification.

Overall a much expanded text book from the earlier editions which goes into greater depth and addresses the criteria along with the use of new technology in teaching.
