Matthew Kane is the Director of Research and Writing at The Learner First, where he focuses on the role and experiences of school systems in developing the learning outcomes that contribute to lifelong success, connect us with one another, and make a difference in our communities.
Orinthia Swindell has centered the voices and experiences of youth and families as the focal point of her work as an educator for the past 28 years. She credits her mother for instilling in her the importance and value of education and of being connected to their community. As the youngest of six children growing up in Brooklyn, New York, Ms. Swindell developed a passion for learning and teaching others about social justice, equity, and inclusion work.
As the Director of Professional Development for Hatching Results, Whitney Triplett trains school counselors and administrators across the nation. Previously at Chicago Public Schools, Whitney supported the district’s 850+ school counselors and college and career coaches, while serving on the board for the Illinois School Counseling Association and instructing school counseling students at Loyola University Chicago.
Stephen Sharp is a school counselor and best-selling author. He has worked to provide students with the knowledge and skills to be healthy and successful in the 21st century. Stephen has served on the governing boards of both his local, state and national school counseling organizations. Stephen completed his M.Ed at Millersville University of Pennsylvania, and BA from Lycoming College.
Ashley Kruger is currently an elementary school counselor with extensive experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive programs that demonstrate improvement in students’ academic and behavioral outcomes. Ashley has worked under two federally funded Elementary and Secondary School Counseling (ESSC) grants and has used data as a means of creating sustainability for the school counseling programs.
Nicole Pablo is a 2022 San Diego County School Counselor of the Year and a school counselor at two middle schools. Due to her expertise in utilizing data to create and evaluate systemic and site interventions, she was hired specifically to build the foundation for her district’s new middle school RTI counselor position.
Robert Q. Berry III is the Dean of the College of Education at the University of Arizona and the Paul L. Lindsey & Kathy J. Alexander Chair. Berry served as President of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), 2018–2020. He holds a B.S. in middle grades education from Old Dominion University, a M.A.T. in mathematics education from Christopher Newport University, and a Ph.D.
John W. Staley, Ph.D., has been involved in mathematics education for over 35 years as a secondary mathematics teacher, adjunct professor, district and national leader, and consultant.
Paola Sztajn is a Professor of Mathematics Education at North Carolina State University and is a Principal Investigator in Project AIM (All Included in Mathematics). Her research program focuses on elementary teachers’ professional development in mathematics and has been supported with several grants from different funding agencies.
