LuAnn Jordan earned her doctorate from the University of Florida in 1995, working as a research coordinator until moving to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1997 as the Faculty Coordinator of the Distance Education Master's Program in Special Education. While at UNC Charlotte, she has served in various teaching, research, and service capacities, including Co-Director of a personnel preparation program in Inclusion.

Gilbert Guerin, PhD, is on the staff of the San Jose State University Foundation where he directs teacher preparation and demonstration projects. Previously he held the position of professor of special education and department chair at San Jose State University.

Barbara L. McCombs directs the Human Motivation, Learning, and Development Center at the University of Denver. The center focuses on the professional development of educators, personal and organizational change, systemic educational reform, and school violence prevention.

Doris “Annie” Henry is a partner in The Resiliency Group, Ltd., and retired Pro­fessor of Educational Leadership. Her research and writing interests focus on resiliency, restructuring, change, organization development, and school improvement. Her work with developing resiliency efforts includes Nelson, New Zealand, Ashland, Oregon; Tennessee State Department of Education; and Memphis, Tennessee.

Lynda Miller began her professional career as a junior high school English teacher in Westminster, Colorado. Her interest in language and cognitive development led her to graduate studies, which culminated in a PhD in language development and disorders and learning disabilities.
