Debra Eckerman Pitton is an Associate Professor of Education at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN, where she teaches middle school and secondary methods courses, and supervises student teachers. In addition, she conducts mentor training workshops for school districts across the country, and regularly presents at conferences. Babette Moeller is a senior research scientist at the Center for Children and Technology of the Education Development Center. She brings more than 25 years of experience researching and developing technology-enhanced programs in mathematics and science to help ensure that students with disabilities and those from other traditionally underrepresented groups will be included in and benefit from educational reform efforts.

Dr. Barbara Dubitsky, a faculty member of the Graduate School at Bank Street College of Education, is the Director of the Mathematics Leadership Program, a program she developed in collaboration with a team of colleagues. Dr. Dubitsky has been a member of the Graduate School at Bank Street College for more than 30 years, and has worked extensively in public and private schools to help teachers build their capacity to teach mathematics.

John S. Kendall is a senior director in research at McREL, where he directs a technical assistance unit that develops and provides standards-related services for schools, districts, states, and other organizations.

Susan Brooks-Young has been involved in the field of instructional technology since 1979. She was one of the original technology users in the district where she taught and has continued to explore ways in which technology can be used to facilitate student learning.

Sara Hill, EdD, has worked in community-based education for 20 years. She has conducted research at community-based youth programs, both in the U.S. as well as internationally, and published several articles in the areas of literacy, youth development and community-based education. She received her MEd from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and her EdD from Peabody College, Vanderbilt University.

Marilyn Cochran-Smith holds the John E. Cawthorne Endowed Chair in Teacher Education for Urban Schools at Boston College’s Lynch School of Education, where she directs the Doctoral Program in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Cochran-Smith earned her Ph.D. in Language and Education from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982 where she was a tenured faculty member at the Graduate School of Education until going to Boston College in 1996.
